Kaikars Training Program Empowers Parish Trustees Across the Diocese of Belthangady

Belthangady, July 19, 2025:
The Diocese of Belthangady organized a comprehensive training program for Kaikars (trustees of the parishes) on 19th July 2025 at Belthangady. The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 120 kaikars from various parishes, highlighting the Diocese's ongoing commitment to strengthen lay leadership and enhance parish administration.

The training session was enriched by the presence of Rev. Msgr. Sebastian Palakuzhy, a highly esteemed resource person, who led the sessions with his deep insights on the responsibilities and spiritual mission of parish trustees. His sessions emphasized collaborative leadership, transparency in parish finances, and the importance of pastoral cooperation.

The event commenced inaugural address by Most Rev. Mar Lawrence Mukkuzhy, Bishop of the Diocese of Belthangady. In his address, the Bishop encouraged the kaikars to be faithful stewards of the Church’s resources and reminded them of their important role in the mission of the Church.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Valiaparambil, Vicar General of the Diocese, extended a formal welcome to the gathering, setting a tone of unity and purpose for the day’s proceedings.

The event was well-coordinated under the leadership of Rev. Fr. Lawrence Punolil, Chancellor of the Diocese, who also served as the coordinator of the program. His meticulous planning ensured that the sessions were informative, interactive, and spiritually enriching.

The training concluded with a note of gratitude and a renewed sense of mission among the participants, who returned to their respective parishes equipped with better understanding and commitment to serve.
